Launch Event

Launch of Splash in September 2005

Parents, teachers and pupils from Penllergaer Primary School took the first steps towards their goal of raising £1,000,000 for a new hydrotherapy unit when they set off on their sponsored walk from County Hall Swansea to Mumbles. The walk raised £1000 towards the appeal to build the facility which will serve both children with profound and multiple learning difficulties at the school and the wider community.

Chris Pitson, chairman of the charity, was delighted that so many supporters, including many of the children in their wheelchairs, had turned out for the inaugural event. Speaking to South Wales Evening Post he outlined the charity's plans to bring in further funding from local activities, donations and eventually a Lottery Grant.
